Has anyone tried to put a pre oiler on the M14P engine? If so, I'm interested in how it was done. Where did you tap in to pressurize the system? Guessing you also put a checkvalve in the line.

Not me. Pull blades every week if it sits. Not high on the idea of drilling holes in the cylinders or valve covers to add another avenue for failure.
The maintenance manual recommends pulling the plugs monthly if the engine is going to sit and squirt oil from the oiler syringe supplied in the tool kit into the cylinder and pull blades.

I am interested in the answer to this one too.
All the other pre-oilers I have seen simply tap into the engine oil system somewhere. No drilling or extra holes needed!

Although I've never seen one installed on an M14 or Huosai engine, here
is alink to one that may be what you're looking for. They have a block
diagram showing how it is integrated into the oil system. One of the
photos shows its installation on a T6. Pretty expensive for 24 volt
radial enginesthough - $1945.00 USD.

Cheers for that. I have looked at these in the past for the DC3. I have just never had an opportunity to fit one yet.
Dennis, I have been lurking on here for a year or so and I would like to thank you for your willingness to share your wealth of knowledge with us knowlessmen.
I am also keen on an external oil filter. I do have an Airwolf one on the DC3, and I can honestly say that they do really work. Our Yak is on it's way to us from Europe so I haven't had a chance to look for a suitable spot to put it. Has anyone fitted one of these units to a Yak 52?

Yes, there have been many Airwolf oil filters fitted to the Yak 52. It is usually mounted to the upper engine mount arm on the right side. Unfortunately, because of the extreme difficulty plumbing it to the scavenge side of the oil pump (the output side of the oil pump, where it should be), most installers plumb the oil filter after the oil cooler and then back into the oil tank.
