Hey Guys,
Going with an EFIS and EMS on my Yak 55M. Who is using what (Dynon, MGL, GRT, or JPI are the ones I'm looking at) for EMS?
Thanks,
Jay

Using JPS for fuel flow and Dynon D10 for EFIS. Both fit well in the existing panel without the need for making a new blank.

Doc,
Thanks for the input. I'm building a whole new panel anyway, so not so worried about the fact that they fit in the existing cutouts. I've already got the whole wire harness out of the airplane (this thing had a flight data recorder!) and am starting from scratch, including B&C lightweight alternator and regulator. Being the kind of guy that can't stand wires just being bundled up in the instrument panel, I kind of had to start over. While in there, might as well upgrade to something lighter/better. The plan is to keep only the "real" airspeed and altimeter.

Jay,
Copy. I'm partial to Dynon. Their systems have always worked well for my needs.

I have the dynon in Yak 52. I had at least 3 mechanical indicators that were damaged by acro.
The dynon has been in 3-4 years and the horizon, alt, and airspeed all are still working fine. The compass is not reliable.

Herb,
Where do you have your RMU mounted for your Dynon?
If you are using the internal in the unit it will be unreliable. I moved my RMU to a mount on the bottom of the panel behind my seat in the 50. It has been accurate since.

I have the Dynon D700 plus the EMS 9 cylinder EGT, 3 cylinder CHT, two voltage buses, gear and flap monitor only right now. My AHRS is mounted in the tail.
