I have the stock Van’s door seals on my bird, and they are not starting to fail on me after 10 years.
Have any of you on the list found a good door seal for the -10?
Thanks - grumpy

I used what I think was a piper seal. Just a little square piece of memory foam on the edge of the door. I have been flying since 2008, worked good for me.
I will try to find a reference. It would be best if you could find the material elsewhere like mcmaster carr . The ones I got were certified and cost a lot for what they are.

I will second that recommendation. Does not require special modification
of door sill, can be made to work with uneven surfaces. Durable on the
doors, not so much if put on the frame.

A little pricy. I attached to the door and not the frame. Right on the edge.

You have to make a cover for the hinge to provide a flat sealing
surface. Easily done with scrap fiberglass or aluminum.

Will do.
You got me to thinking. I have the door seals on the door for my other
aircraft, but on the RV-10 there was not enough lip available, so I do
have the seal on the frame.

Thanks to all.
I, too, would like to see a picture for the hinge area.
How does the seal stick to the door? Their website does not say much about installation and their website shows the seal mounted to the frame, not the door.

Simple to install and works well. Self adhesive seals from McMaster. Five years of service with no issue.

I use a door seal like yours on my Lancair ES. 10 years since build,
still functioning well (my decible level inside is equal to or less than
many who are using the inflatible seals). Not to mention, mine costs
less than $20.

Installed the aircraft door seals on the door last sunday. It took two of use to get the door to close. worse part was getting the silicone adhesive off the door frame. Very slow with a razor blade.
Today took test flight. The door seal compressed and door opens and closes nicely without ant trimming. Seal compresses well.
Only problem is cold air comes in at the top at the hinges. Any ideas hoe wo best block this air flow?

You have to fabricate a cover over the door hinge at where the door
comes down, so the seal has something to compress against. I used scrap
fiberglass from trimming the window openings. Cut to fit, then bonded
with some super fill.
