Anyone have any experience/reviews/comments on the Superior Millenium Overhaul program?
5 years or TBO is one hell of a warrantee. I wasn't planning on going that way, but with a warrantee like that it really has my attention. In addition, the price is extremely competitive considering all new cylinders and cam...

I talked to Penn Yan about the Superior OH, as they are a dealer for Superior, among other OH options. Their comments, as I recall, were that the warrantee was valid only if the owner did substantial documented maintenance at interim intervals - something like 100 hr inspections required for rentals/school planes (although I do not recall the specifics). The bottom line was that he said it was really more suitable for flight schools than private owners. Anyway, that was my take, but you might call them to get the scoop directly.
My personal preferences for OH at this point would be Lycon, if I was on the west coast, and Magnum on the east coast.
Regards,
Doug

I tried to talk a hangar neighbor into getting new Lycoming cylinders aqt his overhaul. He insisted that the Superior warrantee was the was to go. When his cylinders started developing problems with valve guide wear and oil cnsumption at 400 hrs (less than 2 years), Superior told him it was his problem because of his operating technique. He has a Comanche and flew to his condo in Mexico.
Lycoming still makes a better product; in my opinion.
