Can anyone tell me what tool is needed to fit the 4 engine support bolts – 912S engine mount to block?

I used an Allen key/wrench for mine. Additionally you'll probably need to temporarily remove one of the inlet manifolds and maybe even a coolant elbow pipe connector on one of the cylinder heads to get access to one of the bolts.



You'll probably also find that you need to slide a metal tube/pipe of some sort over the end of the Allen key to get leverage for tightening.

Hi Mike,

You just need an Allen Key of the correct size but you will need one that is long enough to reach, in particular, the ones on the LHS of the engine.

I am afraid you will need to go to a good tool shop. An alternative that I use is a correct size key bit on the end of an extension rod.  In order to keep the diameter as small as possible use 1/4" square drive extension.

Mike, you need an 8.0 mm hex. If you need to buy the tool, look for one with a spherically ground tip - it will allow you to tighten the hex head Allen bolts from a slight angle (up to about 10 degrees I think) which is useful if you can't get a "straight in approach" to the little blighters!
