Hello Kolbers,
I do remember someone suggesting the use of Sail Repair Tape for creating gap seals. I saw the tape a West Marine, and have been thinking I would try it when that day shows up.

Seems like great idea. Ive used it on my hang glider and paraglider sails
before it stuck on there really well.
