I am returning my yak 52 to flying status after a 2.5 year restoration. Does anyone on the forum have any experience with winding the trim cables on both trim wheels and the trim actuator on the tail? The manual and associated diagram leave a lot to be desired. I would love to speak with anyone who has done it before, to learn any tricks and techniques.
Thanks,
Casey

Hi Casey;
Take photos of all components of the cable system at every pulley, joint or
other notable location. Study and make sure you fully understand how it
works.
I am not familiar with the Yak 52 system and don't know what cable type and
size they use. The very early CJ's used 2 mm cable but later change to a
not particularly flexible 1 mm size. I have replaced both of these with AN
standard 1/16" extra flexible aircraft cable with excellent results.
