Hello Kolber,
The last time I knew, I believe that the western most Kolb flyer was “Henry” on the Island of Maui. Wondering if anyone is in contact with him, and knows if he is still there?
Thanks,
Nick Cassara

That was Jet Pilot's uncle that died in a glider while attempting an altitude record.
Few years ago Henry joined us at the Rock House for our annual fly in.

The reports of my demise are somewhat premature. Unfortunately Dave Bigalow was killed in a glider accident in 2008. I did die briefly in oct 2016 but the lifeguards applied CPR and a defibrillator and got me ticking again, much to the dismay of a couple of nephews who have been eyeing up my motorcycle, pickup truck and Sonex.
I still have my FireFly but for the past few years it has just been siting. I have been flying larger experimental aircraft. But since my near death experience I've been thinking that it's time to revive the FireFly. That way I won't be endangering any passangers if I happen to blink out again.
Generally I check this list daily.

Thanks John. I do intend to return to rock house for the fly-in the future. I truely had a great time the year I did attend. Being able to spend a week with you, Larry and Karen and many others I had only known as names on the Kolb List puts flesh on the whole Kolb experience...
I'm hoping to get off my rock this coming summer... As it is, I follow Larry's blog so I feel like I'm part of the flying, the birds, the varmints, the snow, the fires, etc.
Nick from Alaska (the northern most Kolb pilot) got in touch with me. I'll see him for a few hours in mid-jan while he waits for his connection to the Big Island.
Thanks again John... I hope you're good.
