Hi Tim Ward,
I am very interested in one of your aluminium Europa fuel filler pipes, I recently had to cut mine off to remove it only to find it was actually ok and now require a replacement.
Can you please let me know availability and how best to proceed with ordering.
Many Thanks,
Roger Grainger

Kevin,
Thank you for your answer. I must confess I have experience only with
carbon fiber so no lines in the layup.
All the best with your project.

As you say Bob, lots of activity behind the scenes.
MOD79 may also bring something to the party for some Europa-owners (LAA aware).
The black silicone hoses in that MOD kit have a green fluoro fuel-resistant
lining.

Hi All
I have just received this from Andy Draper.
"The SM has now been signed off by Francis and its now in the system to
be posted on the LAA web site."
Anyone with a Classic filler hose who wants to replace it with aluminium
can do so using this mod. John Archer <77alembert(at)gmail.com> is
collecting names of those wanting a replacement pipe.

Hi Roger,
The manufacturer is going to do another run after Christmas once we have sufficient numbers and the Mod from LAA is approved.
Will put your name on the list.
Cheers,

Hi Tim,
please put me on the list as well.
Can you please also tell me, what outside diameter the aluminum pipe has, so that I can order the correct silicone hose to fit the ends to the filler and fuel tank? Is it also 51 mm?
Thanks!

Tim,
On inspecting the XS refuelling fuel pipe on G-CBHI today it was found US. Therefore, please add me to the list if it is suitable for the XS? Clearly the XS is a much shorter pipe than that required for the Classic. The current LAA Standard Mod does not cover the XS aircraft but Brian has indicated your pipe will suitable for both and will be the basis of the new XS LAA Standard Mod. From your previous work on this mod do you know if the same specification of pipe has been used anywhere else on the Europa? Did you find any positive way of flushing out any debris from the tank? I have not tried yet.

Ian Cook

Hi! Roland,
Happy New Year .
No the main concern has been about Classic fillers located in the top of the
roof (long pipe) down to the tank. Although the failure Shown was between
the Cobra filling moulding and the tank.
Tim Wards Bent metal pipe is for between the Cobra and the tank.
The purpose of the metal piece was to reduce the smell of fuel ( obviously
in those days from absorbent rubber, especially being such a long pipe.
Regards
Bob Harrison. G-PTAG Classic Wings XS Cockpit Moulding .

Hello Bob,
a happy new year for you, too!
As you know, I have a XS and so it was important, that Tim's aluminium pipe fits for my Europa as well, which it does apperently. I also know of at least two other XS Europas, which installed Tim's pipes more than ten years ago.
A reduction of the fuel smell in my cockpit would also be highly appreciated.
