Hallo to all EUROPA Aircraft friends who communicate through this Europa-List Digest Server! As most of the Europa Aircraft friends perhaps know already, my new build Europa 242 crashed on 29.04.2014 under testing procedures only after 17 Min total test flights the first two times at the airport Lübeck in Germany! This happened during the 3d test launching at a hight of 50 - 80 m only above the runway to hit the ground under full lift off power at the right side of the runway! Peter (72 years old) my friend - with 8600 hrs. total flight hours - and well experienced instruction + training Pilot and PIC had a sudden brain apoplexy of which he lost the control of my Europa completely! Later the doc's found out that he must have been dead already shortly after lift off!
I don't remember anything what was going on at that situation! Several weeks later I was asked many times why I didn't take over in order to land the EUROPA straight ahead further on the run way? I really don't know, and I still have no memory about all these 5 weeks!! That time of my life is gone and never comes back, I think!! --- My injuries were even close to dead as my doctors told me later! They kept me more than 5 weeks in a coma during which the carried out a lot of surgeries on my body in order to get me back to live again! Now in the meantime as my memory partly came back and after 4 years I recovered so far, that now I live 100% handicapped with the help of my wife and nurses! Under this circumstances I organized to rescue all the still usable aircraft parts from my damaged EUROPA 242 - while sitting on a wheelchair - with the help of our 3 adult sons! Ones we had all the rescued aircraft parts together and fotos were taken, our sons put all these aircraft parts with a PC onto a PDF file in order to offer these parts to EUROPA builders!
By the way! The official German Flight-Accident Investigation Office - BFU-Braunschweig - could not find any technical failures on the Rotax Engine + fuel lines, on the Flight Instruments, on wrong wirings or false mounting/building/assembling processes which could be a reason for our crash, not even after approx. 2 years detailed investigations, they found out anything! So, also their judgement came to the conclusion, that this crash must have been a big tragedy!
I am telling you this, so you know from where all these aircraft parts come from which we advertise with the following PDF file:
