|
|
Hi,
got a Yak 52 which has external tanks, but they were not used by the previous owner. Pumps and cables were removed and not installed again after the plane was shipped in a container.
So I got a new cable set and switch box from the avionics shop, pumps and parts.
But there is no fuel level sensor/switch in the external tanks. My other 52 has a fuel level sensor and the light shows red/green. So I know when the tank is empty.
Is there a way to use a fuel pressure switch (6psi), or a fuel flow sensor in line instead ? Or must it be a level switch/float in the tank ? That would not be that easy to install.
thx

You can install one of these off of a T fitting on the output of the pump. Wire it so it shuts the pump off when fuel pressure is lost.
