I know there have been numerous discussions on this forum regarding the B&C LR3C-14. However, I must be doing something fundamentally wrong in using the Search function – nothing comes up no matter how I word it.
Question: What is the optimum output voltage of an LR3C-14 and how do I adjust the unit to achieve it?

Morning, Paul...
Not sure why you're having problems finding it...this is what I came up with in the first item listed after a Google search:
http://www.bandc.aero/pdfs/LR3C_Installation_Manual.pdf#page=6
It describes the unit, it's voltages, the installation, troubleshooting, and on the last page it tells where the adjustment screw is. Also, a phone number to call for further information.

I am sure Bob will reply but for future reference, I got 89 hits here by searching “B&C voltage regulator”

Found the manual here with a google search for “B&C voltage regulator output”

I assume you found the manual by now.
Optimum voltage is the one specified by your battery spec sheet since that's the thing you are keeping fully charged. On Odyssey type batteries my memory says it's 14.1 - 14.7 (measured at battery during operation). Too low on this battery and it will shorten its life. Too high, I don't know but 14.7 has been working fine for me. Different battery technologies vary. Get the spec sheet for the battery, read it, follow it, or you may pay later.
The little screw under the cap which you've located needs to be accessible if there is a need to ever adjust it again. Don't mount it on the back of the fire wall high up where you can't get at it. I did that to both of mine and ended up having to fabricate a special tool to get in there, blindly, to adjust it. Delays in doing so cost me a battery (see above).
