New CJ-6, now I need the jacks. Any idea's or does anyone have any available?

Also, if you made some, could you send me pics please?

FYI, I checked and Doug Sapp doesn't have any right now.

You can contact me off list.

Thanks,

SAM

YAK-52 or Sukhoi jacks will work. You will need three 14mm lug nut studs (from an old Volkswagen for example), to screw into the three jack points. One on each wing and one in the NOSE (not the tail. The way the jack points on a 50 are setup, as you jack the wings, the aircraft's CG is forward, not aft, and the weight is then put on the nose jack. Unscrew any fittings from the top of the jack and then figure out a way for the 14mm lug nut studs to fit into the top of the jack and not bottom out. If you cycle the gear, be careful that you know exactly what you are doing if you choose to exercise the emergency blow down bottle. More than one YAK-50 has jumped right off the jacks when doing that, by those not aware of how careful to be, let alone knowing how to reset the shuttle valves afterwards. Dennis Savarese can guide you through that process, or you can check the archives.

Got the main jacks from Bill Austin. Really appreciate that. Now does anyone have advice on nose and tail jacks? Measurements of yours might help. You can contact me off list.

Thanks again Bill!
