Hay "Uncle Craig"Delighted you flew your beautiful Extra, and at a great time of day too. Must have been a wonderful experience.
Did I see some pix of your bird flying without the engine cowling? Have you had any problems with it? I was planning to make one --

Hi Craig,

Let me know when you want to fly and I'll fly up in my Mark III from Tucson and meet you. Coolidge is only a 30 minute flight for me.
We met at Monument Valley. I had the Red, White and blue stars and stripes. I fly twice a week. The flying is usually good up til 0900 hrs.

ROGER I WOULD LOVE TO FLY WITH YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND YES RUSS I HAVE
NOT FLOWN WITH THE COWLING AS YET, AFTER MY LAST ENCOUNTER I AM GOING TO
GET A FEW HOURS BEFOR I MOUNT IT. We did a lot of modification and are
just going a little slower. On the rebuild we mounted the horizontal
brackets that have adjustment holes like the fire star. To date we have
had them in the bottom hole and it seems as though we are pushing a lot
or air with the bottom of the wing (can't seem go gain much air speed)
it doesn't feel like it did two years ago. I talked to Travis at TNK he
said we might try raising the horizontal. Can any one give suggestions
the prop is pitched at 11.5 deg and at 5200 the air speed is only 50 to
55 it feels a bit mushy. I will be in New York till the end of the month
and will resume testing in Aug.

Pat,

Actually, the Iditarod has been won exactly once by a woman, in 1985 by
Libby Riddles, who I had the pleasure of meeting a couple weeks ago.

SORRRRRY! I Screwed UP big Time about the Iditarod being won only once
by a woman. My BAD, sorry to Susan Butcher who has won it multiple
times and any other ladies that have done so. Libby RIddles was merely
the first to do so in 1985.
