<?xml:namespace prefix="v" /><?xml:namespace prefix="o" /><![endif]--> I purchased my model II completed so I haven't had to work with the brakes so far. I need to fill up the brake fluid but there isn't a reservoir by the pedals. What's the best method for filling up the system?

`you loosen the screw in the toip of the resavoir and push the fluid from the brake caliper back to the master cylinder . if any questions call me and ill help all i can i have a model 2 .

If it’s original, you have the MC-1 master cylinder, and the PH-1 calipers. The reservoir is the master cylinder itself. It holds a couple ounces of fluid. There should be screw on the top. Remove that, and stick a white, small zip-tie down to check the level.

DO NOT use DOT 3 automotive fluid. That’s what happened to mine. All the seals had to be replaced. Use MIL-H-5606 spec fluid, and you can’t get it at the auto parts stores.

Even though the piston shaft is supposed to be the vent, Matco drills the center of the screw with a small hole to “help” it. They replaced mine with plastic internals wrenching screws, but you can use whatever fits the threads.

I used a turkey baster from Wal-Mart and a length of clear tubing. Target has neat metal ones.

I opened the bleeding screw on the master cylinder,wrapped it in lots of cloth and pumped fluid in through the bleeder on the callipers with a small oil can and a length of clear tubing.
