I know in the past there has been a lot of discussion on hose availablity and US substitutes. What is the current best option to replace the fuel lines from the header to the main tanks on my yak 52? Mine have started leaking.

Take them to a local hose and rubber shop. Tell them it is a fuel line for your Russian tractor. They can easily remake them. They can add fire sleeves too.

FYI - there are no hoses from the main tanks to the header tank on the Yak 52. Beneath the front seat is a fuel junction which sits horizontally in the aircraft. This is also where the flapper valves are located. The main tank fuel lines go to this fuel junction. On the back side of the fuel junction, facing aft, is a metal line connection that goes to the fuel sump drain under the belly of the aircraft. On the other side of the fuel sump drain is a metal line that goes up to the header tank, which is located under the floor on the left side of the rear cockpit. I'm attaching an original Russian Training Class slide for the fuel system, with English translation.

Doc's suggestion is the perfect solution. I prefer to tell them it's a Polish tractor instead of Russian though. Smile)

The fuel hose from the filter to the carb isn't easily matched with anything domestically available with several people trying to "fudge" it by drilling out material from existing hose with...less tahn optimum results.
We regularly stock the Russian hose and remake hoses sent in with new Russian hose.

We're currently running about 3-4 weeks turn around.
Here is the list of hoses (I stilll need to add in wing root fuel hoses): YAK-52 Hose List

I would be cautious of buying a fuel line for an aircraft by explaining that it is going to be in a Russian tractor! There is no problem when a tractor stops ploughing, but it does rather spoil your day if an aircraft engine finds itself short of fuel!
