whats the current fix for exhaust leaks at the joints where the pipes come together.

Get a stainless steel exhaust clamp kit from M14P. Wrap the joint with 2 mm stainless steel cut with an tin snip to span the gap. Cut it long enough to wrap around the joint like you would wrap tape around a pipe. Then install the stainless clamps over the taped joint with your third hand.

Hello,



just can´t see how a sheet metal system could possibly provide a real "seal" over rough pipe joints. So we tried glass fiber wraps over one layer of the original inner sheet seals and tightened the whole set with the standard clamp on the top of it. This works well so far but expect the seal to settle in a few hours so check the clamps - as you do regularly all pipe joints to cyl. heads.

We still keep this fiberglass seal, no better idea so far. But when you have to take off the exhaust you need a fresh length of fiber of course because a well used seal ages and disintegrates when undoing. But cheap enough and reasonably tight. Take care to fit one layer of stainless under the fiber for protecting it from fire.
