I have one of those cowl holders from a Yak 52 and it works fine on the CJ.

This may be covered before , but having just got a set of new exhaust clamps from
China and note there is a small bracket / hole on a clamp mid lhs. Any clues
what its supposed to hold / spring / stay ? Anyone.

Before beginning a series of rudder trim adjustments, start by leveling the
airplane, side by side in the hangar. Use a long bubble level across the
canopy rails. When level, then adjust the skid-slip indicators so that
their bubble is centered.
Start with known data before collecting more data....rudder trim varies
with airspeed so adjust trim tab (adjustable trim is great) for your
favorite cruise settings.

It was used to hold the upper cowl open for servicing.
