My advice is not dispose of it.   While it might not be airworthy it is an amazing adhesive.  I stuck a handle back on a collender with redux which had been open at least 5 years thinking that it would last a couple of weeks what with cycles of the dishwasher etc.   That was 5 years ago and it shows no sign of softening or loosening its grip.

As for epoxy i believe that all epoxies are basically similar.  Anyway i used local colombian epoxy designed for insulating transformers to fill my control surfaces.   The owner chemist of the company told me that if it cures itll be fine for that purpose.

If there are crystals in the hardner (which can be too fine to see easily), these will tend to be the source of paint defects where located immediately under the paint film in any filler made with this old epoxy.

It might be possible to redissolve these crystals back in to the hardner prior to use, by means of gentle heating.

Use the Ampreg for filling, but mix some colloidal silica with it. That way you can add 30% more filler and it will still spread.

Use the Redux to mend things in the house; or non structural stuff in the airplane.

I agree that old Redux is more than reasonable for general adhesion provided the hardener is not thickened beyond use.



I use old adhesive for wire tie pads (those sticky pads don't last, Redux does), tack on of metal to glass, etc.
