James,When I was building I purchased the AOA Sport System for Composite Wing from Aircraft Spruce. Their part #10-04792. But I had my wing open, it was easy to install this system. Since the detector sits out about two feet from the end of the wing, you would have to be able to feed two thin nylon tubes from the detector to the wing root, install a connector that can be split at the wing root when you have to remove the wing. It provides both visual and audio warnings. Once flying, the calibration required was easy and straight forward. There is another Europa at my airport that is flying this same system. Hi Mike,
I found your AoA system on Aircraft Spruce but they don't show the Vane part, only showing the cabin display. The cost is the cheapest I've seen but I was wondering if it (or any model) could be retro-fitted to an existing 1995 Classic.
Would you be able to post photos of your Vane installation? If it protrudes from the end of the wing, is it susceptible to damage?
