1. Has anyone come up with a good method to tint the top of the 

windshield for those times one might be flying directly towards a low 

angle sun? Or do you just rely on the sun shades?

2. Has anyone developed an "equipment list" such as certified planes 

have for station and weight of items that might be changed and might 

vary between planes, such as starter, alternator, seats, wheels and 

tires, battery(s), and instrument panel items?

I have the Blue Sky sun visors and find they work really well.  I'd be hesitant to tint the windshield itself, since it would reduce visibility of aircraft above you when you aren't flying directly into the Sun (and especially at times near dusk and dawn when the sky is darker).

Thank you very much. Excellent equipment list. Helps a lot with stationing, where some of my equipment varies. What variety prop do you have?

Other than choosing Dynon Skyview system and SL-30 for backup nav/com, our lists are very similar.

I think the answer for tinting may be the temporary slap on tint sheets.

Kelly, way early on I flew with a friend to the Copper State Flyin' and one of my purchases was a set of Rosen sun shades.  Although they were used, and for a Cessna 210, I made them work.  Then my wife made some black cloth shades that would slide right over them to REALLY keep the sun glare out.  Seems to work pretty well.

Used to see you every now and again in Chandler,,,, but Kim's Cousin, who lived there, moved to Florida.

I use the static Cling tint film.  I have three different sizes I carry.  One for the side window, one for a spot  size and one piece that goes entirely across the front window 1/3 of the way down.  They make the material in various amounts of light attenuation, I use the 80% block.  The static kl8ng lasts for about a year then I make a new one.   $14 at Walmart or autozone

I put in the Rosen visors. They will cover the sun at just about any angle.
