I have a question for those who carry the smaller portable paintball gun/scuba pony bottles. I’m looking at getting something like that to take with me on trips for the obvious reasons.
I’m curious to hear how you have them set up. What size bottles are you carrying? I’ve been looking at the 60ish cubic inch paintball bottles. My other question is in regard to the plumbing from the bottle to the airframe air refill port. What kind of regulator are you using on the bottle? Is it just a stock regulator that comes with the bottle? How do you meter the air out of the bottle so it doesn’t fill the aircraft tank too quickly? I guess my main question is piece by piece what kind of fittings are you using starting from the bottle to the Airframe refill port fitting?
Thanks in advance,
Greg

The Stuaf fittings are available commercially in Australia. The Adapter to go on to the fill port we had made up in a CNC shop. So its a case of shopping for what you want then assembling it. In my case I was lucky enough to be put in contact with a Gent that deals with pneumatic stuff for the railways.

How much of a refill do you get with your portable bottles?
Thanks,
Greg

You have to compare your on board bottle volume and pressure.
Compare that to the volume and pressure of the scuba tank.
That will tell you what you want to know.

I’m not 100% sure if my math is correct. I’d like an efficient size to carry with me and without buying multiple sizes and testing I won’t be certain.
Thanks,
Greg
