Mags are interchangeable left to right/right to left.
Check the high voltage stick for arcing On the sides. This will cause the mag to become inop. Do this b4 you replace the entire mag.

Also make sure the points are opening and closing. If the points don’t open, the mag will be dead.

Thanks Dennis, we will do that. The aircraft is stranded away from base so we want to have parts in place if required to avoid doing multiple journeys.
