Hello All,

I'm considering purchasing five overhauled air compressors from Plamen Petkov at AvioService BG, Ltd in Bulgaria. They're advertised on Barnstormers for a reasonable price and buying a handful will cover future needs to a few friends. 



Has anyone done business with Plamen or AvioService? 

Did the shipment arrive when they said it would?

Were the parts as described and in good working order?

If you had any discrepancies, how were they to work with?



We're looking at the AK-50M or AK-50T. 

They also offer the two-stage AK-50P12 brand new, but that's overkill for us.

Harry,

Plamen is one of the best. I have purchased many parts over the last few years from him. My most recent buy was an M14P and a new hub. He even threw in a few spares with the engine. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend him to any one looking for parts, especially hard to find bits. If he doesn't have them I am almost certain he could get them for you. He has a lot of N.O.S parts too.



As for your questions:



Parts arrived on time or earlier

All parts as described and in good working order

No discrepancies like I have had with non English speaking companies

Great to work with

Forget these guys.



Just bought an AK50 air compressor and the first one was just repainted, a new air filter and nothing done inside.



Even the air filter support was done, I am sure by a kid. Just look pictures.



It is a shame how they want to crock you.



The second one was exactly the same shit. 



These air compressors were on advert since years and when I asked a refund, they told me that they just received from a military overhaul facility and that they had to paid them with my money.



Not only crock but liars.

I can recommend several reputable parts providers including Doug Sapp, Richard Goode and M-14P, Inc.  The risk of buying cheaper from questionable sellers is both monetary and potentially safety of flight.

Thanks for the info. I know Richard and Doug. I will order there next time.



As avioservicebgltd.com. said it was 0 hours overhauled I trusted them but they were just liars.



The first air compressor was sent without documents, the second one was with a copy of a paper in Russian or Bulgarian from 2008 (11 years ago) but without any indication of any kind of overhaul.

Just to update : I have returned all the parts and they refuse to refund. More they are insulting and threatening. I did today an official complanin and open a file with the court.

Just one more update : File is accepted by the court and under investigation.



EASA is also opening an investigation for non airworthy spare parts and dangerous parts.



Just to remind :



Ordered 1 air compressor overhauled, received an old one just repainted. I asked a refund and they refused, they send another one, exactly same shit.



Returned both and I asked refund. they said they cannot refund because they paid the military overhaul...They refused to take both compressor when they were delivered by post.



They told me that I have to sign a new agrement for parts in exchange as no refund is possible and since that they do not answer any email or phone call.



Compressors are now lost somewhere in a postal hangar.



Avoid these crocks and dangerous guy for our planes.

I ordered 2 magnetos from Plamen Petkov (avioserviceblg) them. They were painted fresh silver on the outside, but completely rusted and corroded once you pull the caps. Completely junk. They offered to send new "pencils, coil and insulator", but by the time I pay someone to rebuild them... it really didn't seem worth the trouble.  He said his mechanic checked that they had spark, but did not remove the caps.

Like always : new paint on shit and they always have an answer! Magneto's have a spark....



For my compressor : pressure is tested and compressor were overhauled by military, so we can not refund...



I have returned both air compressor and they have refused to take them 8 times from the postman!



Now they are again at home. So I have two air compressors, the one you can see on pictures, with rust, old oil, worn cylinders, piston and rings but they have a court case on their side...



Stay away these crocks.

Not sure we’re you are in the world.  



I got two zero time mags from Richard Goode and they are perfect.  Look like new inside and out.  Upgraded coil location and coil upgrade.  

Working perfectly since installed.   Better Mag drops for sure. 

If you want another source I would recommend Richard highly.

I wouldn't trust those mags..period.  Why not let the seller know he has two choices, either refund your money or you will let the "world" know what kind of junk he's selling and passing it off as "overhauled".
