This weekend I got to do some flying in my wife's cousin's Grumman Cheetah. That may not be a big deal for a lot of you folks, but it was actually the first time I've flown in several years. I couldn't wait to get back to work on my XL. The Cheetah has a lot of similarities to the XL. One thing I noticed was the cockpit is not as wide as the Zodiac.

Hi Dave,

95% of my flying time was in the Grumman Tiger and the Grumman Cheetah,
great planes, that is why I chose the 601 XL. I love the low wing with a
great view, the big difference is the low speed handling of the 601XL, which
is clearly better than the Grumman's.
