Good morning all

Would anyone know the exact bearing size/spec needed for the cj6 aileron mount bracket?

Looks to be a common size one used all over the aircraft for pull rods, rudder hinges etc and I’d like to get one before we pull the old one out if possible.

Cheers, happy flying

Harv

Managed to remove said bearing with home made puller.

The part required is 126TV should anyone else need to do this, it’s a self aligning double row 6mm ID x 19mm OD x 6mm bearing

I just replaced my elevator bearings and from what I know they are the same as the rudder and ailerons. I don't know the spec size, but I can tell you this! They are the same bearings in the canopy rollers and therefore you can buy a set of them fairly cheap from Todd Bohlman, you can find him on Ebay as that's where he sells them or search for him on the Red Star Facebook page.

The bearings are 6x19x6 mm self aligning bearings. They are available all over the internet. Be sure to include “self aligning bearing” in your search.

Dennis makes a real good point.  He gave me this information some time ago.  I wasn’t sure why self aligning was so important.

Found out you are pretty much guaranteed a smooth non binding rotation.  Probably important.  That is what the literature and the tech support person at 123 bearing shared with me.   He also suggested as many balls as possible.   (There is a joke in there for sure)
Those bearings are all over the plane.
The rigid bearing may be a mistake.

No rigid bearing unless the original is rigid. Dennis

There are basically two sizes of self aligning bearings used in the CJ.  I normally have good stock on both.

Absolutely! Make it easy on yourself if you're looking for bearings, or anything else for CJ's for that matter. Just call Doug. He should clearly your go-to guy.

Yes, BUT they are fixed bearings. Not self aligning.
