Hi !
This is an issue for european Yak owners.
I do live in Germany, but my Yak52 is SP = polish registered. Its not possible to get a D reg (german) for a Yak52 in Germany, but since this is Europe it is possible to register in other european countries. But its not that easy.
Since the last annual the polish CAA limited my Yak52 to 15h annually and no aerobatics. Others are limited to 5h or grounded ! The polish CAA and inspectors do not answer questions when this limitation will be removed. At least thats what my aircraft shop says.
On what EU registration do you fly with your 52 ?
Which makes sense ?
Is it possible to get an F reg and what are the limits over the in France ?
thx for help !

Hi!
France does not accept any new YAK 52 on its F-Wxxx register, unless it was already based in France when the French CAA decided not to allow the Russian registred YAK 52 to fly over the French territory (it occurred in 2008, if I remenber well).
I personally fly my YAK 52 with a G-xxxx call sign. Currently more tricky due to COVID-19....
Otherwise, very safe and reliable way to fly a YAK 52 in Western Europe.
Hope I could help a bit.

Hi Tobias,
I don’t know all the EASA Member State rules and regulations.
In the Netherlands we fly under a National Regulation which is only valid for the Netherlands and Netherlands based aircraft.
It is very restrictive including a National Licence, recency requirements and regular evaluation flights.
It involves a lot of regulatory hoops to go through, to name just one, a technical inspection by the national authorities and very strict life limits etc.
I think your best bet is to create a National regulation, as we diid. Costs a lot of time and commitment IF the national Authority is willing. It must be passed into law, so no easy task. But for the long run is a good system.
In the meantime, Hungarian, UK or French would be your best bet, assuming EU member states will accept UK permit to fly system after Brexit.
Sorry I can’t be of motie help. Like you say, it’s not easy.
kind regards,
Stephen
