Hello Kolbrers,
I am wondering if one of you knows where I can buy plastic Airfoils for my gears legs. I bought my kit “third hand” and I have a lot of extra tubing and other odds and ends that seem to have not relation to the kit. I have enough Airfoil for my wing struts, but the pieces for my gear legs are 10’’ short. Aircraft Spruce only seems to have Aluminum Airfoils available.
Thanks for the help…

I used to have a link, but can't find it now. How about:

If those aren't big enough, you could try Van's Aircraft; they have a
couple of different fiberglass versions, and a wrapped aluminum version:

I considered the air foil plastic but did the following. I used an insulating foam from a can called Great Stuff. I sprayed the foam on the back side of the gear legs and let it set up. Then added additional foam to get the basic shape. When it dried I took a small hand saw to it to get it closer to the shape I wanted. Then I block sanded to a more refined shape. Don't be afraid to add more foam as needed but be careful to cover areas that you don't want it because it sticks like crazy. Wear disposable gloves. You can do SOME shaping after it expands and skins over. Next I mixed up some epoxy with microballoons to fill all the holes and imperfections. Then a final thin epoxy coat for a paintable finish. My gear leggs are the Kolb solid spring steel legs which flex quite a bit and these gear leg fairings have survived app. 15 years so far.
Again worth what you paid for it.
