A second radiator, oil or coolant, should not be required in a Laminova set-up. Removal of the oil radiator in the duct of the XS will increase the flow of undisturbed air through the coolant radiator and more than compensate for the heat load added to the coolant from the Laminova.
I have a classic and for several years had to step climb to control temps. I no longer have to do this.
I keep the airplane at KPGD (Punta Gorda, Florida) and at KEYW (Key West, FL) and in a typical year stay in south Florida until July before flying north.

To be clear: I have flown many times with ramp temps in excess of 90F (33C) with no ground temperature issues and at 4500ft, 80F (26C) with no necessity to step climb to control temperatures.

I have a classic with an 80hp.
After several years of experimentation I have settled upon a cowl flap/exit air
restrictor and, most important, a Laminova water-oil heat exchanger.
The cowl flap keeps the coolant temperature under control (210-220F) and the heat
exchanger keeps the temps in lockstep in cruise. In climb, the oil temp stabilizes
at 15-20degF over coolant temp. (I attribute this to heat load in the
gearbox.)
If you Choose the Laminova, get the largest of the 3 standard sizes. It will not
overcool.
(I started with the smallest, moved to the medium and had to install a coolant
restrictor to force more coolant through the heat exchange section)
They are not returnable so go for the big one, its not a great deal lerger or more
expensive.
In descent temps go to 170-180F. Cowl flapp closed.
It has been a lot of work, but I love my Laminova. I am in Vermont currently,
with surface temperatures in the 20-25F range. (-5C)
Warmup is a bit faster too.

very nice!  I wonder if the classic rads could handle the 100hp of a ULS with your setup.
Cheers,

I was wondering if someone with the Laminova set-up could
(via diagram and/or photos) show how it is done ?

I understand that you only need one radiator but as my two
do not cope with extended taxiing, the single radiator for
the Laminova would have to be huge.

On-line the applications seem to be automotive and they
say that an oil thermostat isn't needed. I assume that is
because there is a water thermostat.

So is a water thermostat required for the Laminova ?

Hopefully someone can enlighten me.

Hello
I have the classic cowling and original 2 piece cooling radiators.
They handle the 100hp ULS without any problems. My highest readings were 110 degrees C.
I use waterless coolant. Very happy with this set up.
However, the original 80hp size oil cooler is having difficulties when it gets hot summer weather on climb out.
The differential is about 20 degree Celsius between both, rather consistently, the oil being the hotter part.
