Been using Viton on the calipers for 10+ years.  They last longer than the mil spec o-rings.  They are higher temperature rated BUT the down side is they can leak and not seal as well as lower temperatures.  I typically do not operate my RV at the lower temperature  so it is not a big deal for me.

I replaced the stock break seals on my RV10 with viton seals after they failed due to a long taxi at KOSH one year.  Never a problem after that.  Also used ATF for fluid due to higher flash point.

Very little reciprocation occurs in disk brake caliper piston.Â  I replaced the original leaking Nitrile O-rings in mine with Viton 15 yrs ago and haven't had a problem since.Â  If you are concerned with the poor low temp performance of Viton in your climate, go with Fluorosilicone.
