Hi everybody
Many thanks for all the help I received when I designed the electric system for my Jodel's friend.
The plane is now airworthy and so far everything is working like a charm.
I now start helping an other fellow aviator who'w building an Aero101. He is a professional carpenter and the airplane is a true beauty but electicity is not he's strong skill.
I designed a very simple electric system, 90% inspired by bob's Z16.
Once again Bob [and all the other members of this forum], thanks for all the knowledge you're spreading...
My friend had 2 requirement that forced me to differ from Bob's design :
- he doesn't want to use a battery relay (I personally don't neither the load on the bus is less than 5Amp and a simple switch can handle that kind of current)
- he bought a rather expensive start key (see installation manual attached) that permits to turn ON the battery, select Ignition 1 and/or 2, and activate the stater. He don't want any other switches (unless safety mandates).
Initially, the supplier doesn't advised to install a OV disconnect relay, but I used Bob's design to adapt one on his airplane.
Please let me know if you see any flaws or improvement possible.

The crowbar module will short out the battery.
There is a long, always-hot wire connected between the battery and
terminal 1 of that expensive switch. In an accident, that wire could make
sparks and start a fire. A battery contactor can shut off power close to the battery.

Thanks for your and Bob's wisdom...
Guess we're always learning...
I've taken into account the suggestion of the battery relay, explained the argument once again, leveled pros & cons but it still a no in this situation.
Moved the crow bar.
Should at least work as it's intended...

Hi guys
Project is moving forward except one step :
I can’t get my hand on a crowbar over voltage ( ref OVM-14 by BANDC ) unless I buy a complete kit ( which I don’t really need)
Does somebody knows where I could get one (AC spruce are out of stock) or does somebody have one in spare and would accept to send it to me ?

If you're willing to build your own, there are instructions on the AEC website. Or I can send you a copy, if that's easier.

Thanks for the details.
Even tough learning new skills is always fun and educative, I would keep a DIY approach on last resort,
First, they seem to be readily available from B&C,
Second, it’s for a friend project, and I have no clue about elctronics etc, I’d rather spend some time on my on electric wiring,

I’ll try b&c once again, and then task my father on the subject, he’s a retired electronic engineer, I’m sure he’ll understand all those little drawings 🤣
