Got the three blade 72" Warp Drive prop mounted today, any suggestions for initial pitch angle?
Stock Rotax 582, 3.47:1 E box.
The fewer times I need to loosen and readjust everything, the happier I'll be.

Hi Pete, somewhere between 6and 8 degrees should work. Do you have a digital protractor? George

Yes, I do. If the rain holds off, might get to run it this afternoon.

Well - tach didn't work right, and oil pump didn't work right. I only put in 1 gallon of gas with premix, glad I did. With the wings off, I could reach my hand in and push the oil pump lever to max - still minimal smoke when it should have been fogging the mosquitos. Shut it off.
OTOH, it ran as smooth as anything I have ever seen, I am thinking that once I get it sorted out I will like it.
Maybe next week.

As in take the 10mm bolt on the pump loose and let the oil from the oil tank run out through it? Yep.
PS: when something is not working for no obvious reason, there are no dumb questions. At least not in my case.

Finally got everything together and flew this afternoon. WOW! The 72" prop and 3.47:1 ratio really accelerates!
Still got some things to sort out, with 13 degrees of pitch, static tied down was 6250, climbing out the prop loaded up a bit and was only turning 6000-6100. Egt's were good, pulled back to 54-5500 rpm cruise, egt's were good.
Repitched the prop to 12 degrees, climbout was 63-6400 rpm, climbing 1,000/min, but as soon as I reduced throttle to 5500, the EGT's went up to 1200 degrees. Eased the throttle back to around 5,000, went back and landed.
My initial reaction is that the prop unloaded a bit much in cruise, which jacked the egt's, but first I'll go through the carbs and make sure that everything is like it's supposed to be.
The wife says that it is remarkably quiet, and that is w/o the after muffler installed.

Sounds as though you need to raise the needles, too lean.

Hi Richard, it sounds like your pretty close to me. I would expect that increase in EGT at throttle back between 4800 and 5000 rpm.( to be avoided.) Some Rotax engines have that lean spot at reducing power after having been run at high power settings. Your static pull sounds pretty close as does you climb out rpm sounds good. I would suggest raising your carb needles maybe one
notch and installing your muffler for a little back pressure. Actually I’d just install the muffler and try it again. I’m not much on multiple adjustments at one time. George
