Having nearly been caught short recently, and not getting any younger.
I am wondering if anyone has any simple/not so simple novel way to relieve ones-self in flight?
regards
Mike

A one litre bottle with a reasonably wide neck. Fits under thigh support. Probably need to undo your straps to ease forward to let bottle dangle down over edge of seat, unless you have an exceptionally long pitot tube. Having been brought up as a glider pilot with flights of 8 hrs or more, it has always been a routine aid. No need to suffer in silence! Many glider pilots had pee tubes - a funnel emptying into a tube which just voids overboard, but that tends to leave urea crystals on the fuselage aft of the outlet. David Joyce, GXSDJ

Mike,
I use TravelJohn disposable urinal. They have a gel that absorbs the liquid so there is no mess.
Their website suggests they are available in the UK.

Ditto.
Much preferred over water bottles, mason jars, portapotties etc.

Hi! Mike /all.
The solution to male urine relief can be found at www.bullens.com (Bullen International Ltd. 85-87 Kempson Street Liverpool L38HE. Free phone 0800269327.)
They supply underpants with a system called “uri-drain system” . Underpants are fitted with a plastic attachment to which you fit a bag in to which you insert your penis . The kit also provides a measuring facility to measure diameters for ordering.( that is diameter NOT length !) .
The bag has a rubber stopper and for in flight use this can be engineered to fit directly to a pipe passing along the “tunnel” to exit in a air pressure negative area .
G-PTAG had a 9 gallon long range tank plumbed in to the fuel system and I could do a 5-6 hour flight without a break ! but beware of cramp ! Especially if your knee is subjected to cold draft from the nearby Naca Duct ventilator.
There is also a new bottle coming on the market which is actually a “convoluted” construction which folds down to a very compact shape .
Regards
Bob Harrison .
