I'm happy with my Garmin GTX-335...
I needed to replace my ancient King-76 transponder, and this Garmin unit was an
easy drop-in replacement. Box has the same dimensions, so I got a 2-fer: new xpndr
plus ADS-B Out. I slipped the ADS-B antenna in the dead space between the
cockpits. ~$3500 for new kit.

We went with the Trig TT21/TN72 for experimental installation.
Easy to install, lightweight, works great, low power load.
