Will, clever idea with the fuel outlet covers. Any idea how effective they are? Also, the second photo is the underside of a Europa, however, I am uncertain wha it is we should be looking at.

Erich thanks.
No scientific evidence. My guess was that some engine air would get sucked up into the nosegear hole and past the bulkhead. I wanted to vent this as opposed to it getting sucked into the cabin.
Also i wanted to ventilate any posible gas seepage.
I get a good breeze in through the naca vents on the cabin sides about knee level.
I have a co detector in the cabin which has never alarmed.
The cabin exhausts i think through the throttle slot and doors.

While looking for something else on my computer today, I found this post concerning Cabin Air. I think G-IANI is still flying in the UK but I have no idea how to contact the owner and find out if this mod is still in place. Maybe someone in the UK can help?

G-IANI is indeed still flying, I know the owner is on the WhatsApp group but not sure about this one.
I had that mod installed on mine, G-OBJT but could not see any benefit and blocking it off decreased the CO2 reading on my monitor, and added weight for no real benefit so removed it.

When it comes to Europa interior airflow each aircraft is somewhat unique, so I would not write off the duct from bulkhead to sternpost for all Europa's if it doesn't work on one. I think for it to be effective the flap slots would need to be somewhat blocked, I thought Klaus Dietrich designed some clear plastic flap slot cover's, I don't recall where I saw them but they looked good and not too difficult to build and install also one less opening for mice.

Newbie question here - why would there be a need for the tubing from the D panel back to the port near the rudder? Seems you'd just install an adjustable vent or two below the D panel and an exit one near the rudder. The air is going to get to that exit with or without the tubing. Then test different adjustments in the vents until you get a setting that best matches your most used altitude. Wrong?

Because you may find that the air pressure behind the D panel is higher than the cockpit and so you will simple see air coming from the rear to the cockpit unless you have some arrangement in the tail to lower the air pressure in that area.
In my aircraft that is what happens, Trigear XS.

Don’t forget that you have the slots for the flaps which are below the wing during normal flight and may influence the pressure in the rear that you will need to compensate for.
