I was wondering what kinds of air filters people are using on their intakes ? The stock CJ is just a wire screen and I am looking for ideas to cut down on the dust and grit .
thanks, Gary

The stock filter is really a what we called a "cheese grater" which was really a flame arrestor, I removed it to
gain a little MAP at altitude.
Bill Blackwell in Arizona sells a foam sock to fit over it.

The correct CJ screen has the cheese grater expanded metal, then over this is a super fine brass screen. If you don't have the fine brass screen I believe Bracket make a sock type filter for the CJ. Or you could use both if you wish, down side is that it will cost you almost a inch of MP.

Hey Doug,
Did you ever get that Housai engine stripped and find the cause for the failure?

The planetary gears in the nose case all migrated to the sump at the same time! No idea why yet.
