Seeing that you on topic of fuel caps. Has anyone done any
streamlining of the fuel caps and did they even notice an increase
in cruise ?

I used these fairings from Murle Williams:
<http://murlewilliamsaviation.com/gascap.html> Mine were installed
during construction so I can't comment on performance improvements,
but Murle's testing corroborates what others have said about the
benefits of smoothing the airflow around the caps.

These Murle Williams fairings look interesting. If I got a pair should I cover first or cover around them?

Now how about a fairing on the wing to strut attach point...?

I got my strut-to-wing fairings from Murle also:

Go ahead and cover first. The fairings screw on afterwards so they
can be easily removed for access to the strut bolts.
