Has anyone in this group used the Navman fuel gauge with the Rotax two cycle and if so, what has been your experience?

Hi Frank.

I installed the NavMan 2100 (marine version) on my Model 2 with 582 gray head. It seems to work great. I empty my tanks after each flight and the amount I drain out appears to coincide closely with the NavMan's remaining fuel calculation. I'll do something a bit more empirical to verify appearances before relying on it, but so far I'm pleased and impressed. Also, the price from Boaters Land is unbeatable. I'd recommend it.

Frank, I have a navman 2100 and I had over a year now . No problems at all. I checked on my fuel use on it tonight while flying and since July 07 ( the last time that i reset the totals)
I have used 920 litres of fuel. This is on a 582 and on flights of 3 hours+ it seems to be accurate on fuel burn.

And I think i got mine at boatersland. It was 119$ i recall and rec;d the next day via courier in Canada.

Only thing I did not like was the nipples on transducer are 3/8" and I use 1/4 " line . It is hooked in right below the fuel pump on firewall after the gascolator and covered in gas sleeves.
I used a fitting on each end to change 1/4 to 3.8 and visa versa.

I’ve used one with a 582 for 3 years and now have one on my Jabiru. Probably one of the most useful gauges in my airplane.

Hi Gary-
Can you explain a little about how the F2100 Fuel Flow Indicator works?
By that I mean, what senses the flow, an impeller? Where do you insert
the sensing device?
I'm a little concerned about the specs on this unit....only good down
to 32 F? And one other spec...90-300 hp? That puts our 85-horse Jabs a
little below their range...have you found this to be a problem?

I have one too and have operated as low as - 25C ( -15F) with NO
troubles.
It works by impeller and I think that temp range is most likely for the LED
display.
It say min flow rate 5 litres per hour and mine read below that but you know
alot like to brag how they only burn 4 litres an hour but in reality we all
know that a range of 5 t o 130 litres perhour will cover most all Kitfoxes.

Hi Lynn

The flow is sensed by a small turbine that has an inlet and outlet nipple.
You just put this into the fuel supply line after the filter and before the
fuel pump.

A signal cable then runs back to the gauge which just requires a 12V supply
and ground hook up.

As the fuel flows the turbine spins and the flow is monitored and displayed
on the LED display.

I had over 300 Hrs or 4,500 ltrs through my last gauge without any problem
and consistently better than 98% accuracy. As soon as I purchased my new
Kitfox I fitted a Navman and I have about 450 Ltrs through this one. I
drained the fuel last weekend and checked the volume against the gauge and
it was within 1/2 Ltr.

You have to make sure that you remember to update the gauge everytime you
add or remove fuel as it doesn't read anything from the fuel tanks. I also
fitted the Murle Williams low fuel warning light just to have a direct
contact with the actual fuel supply. I located both in a small consol that I
built for fuel management. See attached Foto.

You can see the low fuel light in the bottom right corner of the lexan cover
