I've been emailing various folks when I have questions, and I get various answers along the way. Here are some of the questions I had along with answers I'm using. I'm currently just scratch building the wood parts so this may not apply to people who bought the kits. As a caveat, I am and was a complete newbie with lots of things, but someone else may be able to use this information. So at the risk of sounding like an idiot...
q: Where do I get Aerolite?
a: http://www.gluelines.co.uk/AEREO49 is where I got it, they shipped both the powder and the catalyst, I got it within 5 days of ordering but it cost as much for shipping as it did for the aerolite.
q: Where do I get Penacolite G-1131 Resorcinol

q: What's the best way to cut aircraft plywood?
a: Sometimes a utility knife, other times the band saw.
q:What staple gun and size staples should I use?
a: I use the Senco SFW10XP that shoots C-size, fine wire staples (http://fikus.homeftp.net/tail_parts/20060119.htm). I forget what the length of the staple should be, but for covering the ribs with 1 mm plywood into 10 mm capstrips, I used 3/8".
q: How do you do full circle fuselage frame laminations?
a: The method I used was to laminate the half circles, then make scarf cuts on the top and bottom to join the halves. When I glued the halves together, they were clamped in the mold to keep the shape accurate. See http://fikus.homeftp.net/fuselage_parts/20051002.htm
q: How do you taper the spar in two directions while assembling?
a: My way of doing it was from George Richards (thanks George). I used the aluminum channel raised to the correct slope and then passed a router overhead. You have to keep the dimensions of the peices you want to taper in mind when planning for this jig. I tapered the inside boom dimension first, then built the spar, then tapered the fore and aft dimension. http://fikus.homeftp.net/tail_parts/20060917.htm It also took me a while to find out where to get angled aluminum and a channel that large. q: How do I shape the curve at the bottom of the rudder spar?
a: Try to match the drawing as good as you can, later on when assembling round things out and skin (a typical Alfred answer, good to know it doesn't matter too much)
q: I'm using West system to varnish interior surfaces, which hardener do I use and how do I mask off gluelines.
a: Everybody had different answers to the hardener, I went with the 207 special coating hardener because it sounds like it's good for moisture protection...I don't necessarily know how much better than the others, but that's what I'm using. As far as the masking off gluelines goes, I learned this the hard way, but even if you mask off the lines with fine line tape, the epoxy still wicks its way under the tape, so you still have to freehand withing a couple mm of the glueline, but not closer, when you glue the covering on, put the aerolite on the skin all the way to the epoxy to cover all the gaps. I still mask off the glue lines just to be safe.
And finally, some wise words to those just starting out from Alfred...
"...everyone who builds a Falco will tell you the same thing. You follow the plans and dimensions as closely as possible, and then at some point, say when you are float sanding, you just accept it that this is a piece of sculpture, you sand it smooth, put the skin on and forget about it."

This is actually the type of thing Newbies need.. I've run out of disk
