I decided to reserve a N number for our Firestar ll and so I went on line to the FAA web site and and did the search to see what was still available, I then picked a number that was not reserved and went thru the process to give my credit card info and pay the $10.00 for the 1 year fee. When I went to put in the N number i wanted I found that to be difficult, but proceded and I thought to myself this is going to be interesting to see how this works out. they will send you in 2 or 3 weeks written confirmation of your requested N number reservation. I felt certain that it would me a mess and that getting it done correctly would be a challenge...To my supprise a man from the FAA called me on the phone and had a N number for me, it had the last letter and last number i wanted but was not what i would have picked for the rest of it...I told him that I had a bit of problem with the web site and the number i prefered, he looked it up and then reserved it for me....Who says the government cannot do things in a good manner....I was surprised that I got such good service from a government agency....wow things are looking up...
