Thanks so much for all the comments from the group.

I've already gotten a couple of suggestions and comments that are greatly
appreciated.

One of you mentioned the Tailwind Stick. I am not at all familiar with that
and wonder where I might find a picture or description to look at. Searched
Google but nothing came up.

And to the comments about the short 550 foot runway. I definitely will be
taking the plane to our local airport, KJXN, for the early testing. Have a
friend with hanger room for final assembly and testing. Feel confident that
once I get used to the plane all it will take is a bunch of grass strip
practice to get into a small strip. Have a nice 1500 foot grass strip just
a couple of miles North East of the Jackson Airport. Will be a great place
to practice short field landing.

Again, thanks for all the kind comments, both on and off of the list.

George - N73EX next summer I hope!

No sketch but a description should get you on the track. The Tailwind had a central stick as Steve was rabid about weight and simplicity , I guess he was like some of us in that he liked flying with his left hand, the central stick basically had a "T" on top extending to each side to a point directly in the center of both pilot and copilot, from there it dropped down vetically several inches forming the grip,in the same place it would be if it came up from the floor. Easy to make it removable or at least foldable for easy entry. Mine will probably fit into the standard "Y" with a pip pin so it's easy to remove and replace. John

Thanks John, very good information.

Never considered a "top down" approach. I will mock something up and see how it feels.

Here are a couple of photos I found in a fast search, hope you can see the sticks in each project, one is complete (both seats) and the other one is only in the left seat.

Saludos
