Hello fellow builders,

I have a question about the rivet that is installed at the overlapping area between the ends of the stabilizer spars and the end rib. The construction manual shows a rivet at this spot (the circled one in the attached picture). But, because of the bend radius of the end rib flange, when the end rib is installed there can't be enough overlap between the parts at this location to satisfy the edge distances. I have 14mm there on mine. How have other builders dealt with this?

Doesn't look like a problem to me Dino. You might want to add in a second rivet about half way to the next one inboard and the same thing half way to the next rivet forward if it would make you feel more secure.

In the future, you might adopt what the Titan Co. does. They use a combination of an epoxy-like adhesive with pulled rivets in their construction. If the assembly never has to be taken apart and the edge distance won't work out for you, etch the mating surfaces (Alumaprep) and add a bit of epoxy when rivetting.
