Does any sell the fiberglass fairing that covers the steel gear leg attachment bracket and the lower end of the struts....... Someone had a picture of some awhile back of some fiberglass ones. but I have lost the picture or the link....
That looks like a place that can really save some drag as well......

I don't have some on my 801. I do believe ZAC sells them as an option. I thought about installing some but I usually have someone helping me push the toy back into the hangar and I am not sure they could stand any kind of abuse. Comments ???

Yeah yeah yeah, I have a tow bar , going uphill into the hangar takes more force then I want to put on the towbar. Since the fairings encase the struts I am guessing they are not well supported for pushing against. And of course I don't want ANYONE pushing that hard on my prop.!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did install the strut fairings on my 801 using the kit from Zenith.
A time-consuming project - especially the pieces at the tops of the
struts where they connect to the wing. My final product did not look
much like the pictures in the instructions but I am pleased with the
results anyway. Unfortunately I did not plan for rigorous testing but
my first reaction with them installed was something like:
whoaa......... I am glad I did this!!! I would peg the gain at 4-5
mph at both cruise and top end. Still not a speed burner but every
bit helps with this plane. Part of the uncertainty was the earlier
installation of the larger tail which may have cost me a mile or two
an hour. The fairings certainly more than made up for that loss however.

It is still possible to help push the plane this way, as the wing
strut is right behind the leading edge of the fairing - but you
definitely have to be a bit more careful than with an exposed strut.
Similarly, getting into and out of the seat by placing one hand on a
strut requires a bit more care in hand placement. Not really a
problem for either myself or the wife however.
