Ron and Cappy made this one last year and it was the best we have ever been 

to.  Lot's for RV's and good food.  Put it on your colander.

Cappy and Lynnie are planning on it for sure.

Frequency:  122.9  (JAX sectional)

Runways:   RIGHT HAND TRAFFIC FOR RUNWAY 36

                 LEFT HAND TRAFFIC FOR RUNWAY 18

Use taxiway located on west side of runway 18/36.  DO NOT TAXI on

runway.

Park where directed by ground personnel.



Burgers and hot dogs with all the fixings will be served.  $5.00 donation

please.  Lunch at 12:00 (noon).  Coffee and donuts for early birds.



ALL ACTIVITIES WILL BE HELD AT NORTH END OF RUNWAY 36.



NOTE:  THIS IS A PRIVATE AIRPARK.   LAND AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Looks like a good time.  A bit far for me though.  Besides, Miriam

uses the colander to rinse our lettuce; I'm not allowed to mess with

it.



A side note: she asked for a roll the other day, coming back from a

visit to our kids in Farmville (KFVX).  I gave her my smoothest

performance (o-kaaaaay.... no Mile-High Club comments, you wise guys).

 She immediately said, "Since I know what to expect now, I think you

better do another one <grin>."



I've brought up the subject before, but never pushed it.  This is the

first time she's been receptive, and she brought it up completely on

her own.  Patience is a virtue   When I asked her why once was not

enough, she said "It never is with you."  No, actually, she didn't

want Donna to have all the bragging rights.  She figured going in for

just one roll would leave her in second place.



Guess I don't need Dennis to roll my wife, now.  Nice of him to offer,

though.  Who says we're not a friendly bunch?

Well, I'm glad you guys are finally remembering there are ladies 

reading this (okay, probably only me--LOL). If you are in Greenville 

for the ECU game this weekend, look for us at the game. Dennis has 

coordinated a great F-15 flyover the field after the national anthem  

for the "Military Appreciation" game, and we are guests of the 

chancellor.

statline is having bbq on saturday and monroe is have hot dogs and a band 

saturday nite.Both of these events are free and gas at monroe is 

3.25.Somebody could bring the fat girl from the truch stop.

Mount Airy, North Carolina

What an experience. Could have been a good experience but wrong timing.



By chance we were "weathered in" there for an entire weekend during Mayberry 

Days back in 1998. Mt. Airy was to be just an overnight stop on our way from 

Chicago to Southport. for our sons wedding on Bald Head Island. We had a 

beach house rented for the week and I arbitrarily chose Mt. Airy figuring it 

would be an easy quick flight the next morning to Southport and we would be 

on the beach by noon. The weather at the beach was beautiful. We should have 

gone further south the day before. While our 'paid for' beach house sat 

empty, we endured the fun everyone else was having with the festival.   What 

made matters worse it that we had to pay premium rates at the local motel 

and all the restaurant were full. But the people were wonderful.



Sorry about rambling on. Have too much time on my hands right now.

You'll go for it.
