I am looking for an instructor with a tail wheel Kitfox. Anywhere I guess.
I have been shopping for insurance and the only workable offer I have requires 5 hours dual in same model Kitfox. I need to respond with a binder within 30 days. I want to know if the instruction in a Kitfox is even available before I fork out the money.
My plane is in phase 1 so using it for instruction is not an option. Flying it without liability insurance is also not an option.
My plane has been complete and ready to fly for six years. Now my wife says "Fly it or sell it". I am currently taking tail wheel lessons in a Stinson, the only thing I can find available around here.
I live in central Washington but am willing to travel. Lets hear some ideas please.

The message below was posted on the list last month. It may be just what you ordered.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey List,
Well, this comes as bad news to Mark (Sorry Mark!), and maybe good news to a
Kitfoxer in the Pacific Northwest?
My Flight School is sending me to Portland, OR - well, Salem, OR...and I
leave Jax, FL first thing in the morning. It looks like I may be there for
several months (I know I won't be in any rush to leave!!) until I get picked
up by an Airline - (Holding out for Air Wisconsin!)
So, my offer still stands to the list - I know it can be difficult to find a
Kitfox CFI...
Blue Skies and Happy Flying!

Wow this is a great response! I received another possibility off list too!
Ron, my plane is a Model 4. I have tried to contact Andrew in Salem but haven't been successful yet. His offer was for instruction in the student's plane. He has a model 3. I do not know if he wants to use it for instruction.
I need to call the insurance company to get clear what they mean by "Same make and model Kitfox".
I am going to persue the two offers I have. There are a few hoops to jump through yet so I am still interested in more ideas as a contingency. keep em comming.
