For the sake of those who have a Kitfox with a Jabiru engine, but are
not on the Jabiru list, here is the link to the inspection and
re-torque of the flywheel bolts I did today.

Michel,
The last time I wrote you I am sure I misspelled your name. Sorry.
What is the blue tool you show in your picture apparently identified
as torch? If it is a torch, it is unlike any I have ever used. No
Jabiru engine as yet but curious.

Don't worry, Jim, having lived in three different countries, ... I am
used to be called all sorts of names!

The word "torch" is what I think may translate what it is, in English,
but I may be wrong. This is the kind of tool you find e.g. in the
kitchen, to make a crème brulée. You may also use it to solder. It uses
lighter gas but while a lighter only burns the gas directly, this
device allows for a flow of air to come on the side and therefore works
more like a torch, giving a warmer blue and pencil-sharp flame.

Michel

Jim,
Its a butane fueled soldering torch. Find at
Radio Shack or Harbor Freight but best of all go
to Home Depot or Lowes for a nice kit with all
kinds of ends and a refill canister. Very handy
for soldering big wires and soldering in remote places.
Regards, Paul

Michel,
I have saved your illustrations as I feel I will no doubt be pleased
to have them in the future.
Thanks, Jim Crowder

Jim, if I understand correctly, you will receive a new Jabiru 3300. In that case, your engine has the flywheel mounted with dowel pins and you can ignore this service bulletin.

Michel
