Doing my final firewall forward wrapup and have this question. I need to
reorient the prop gov arm for an RV install. It looks I only need to go one
hole clockwise. Right to the point. How do I do it? Any gremlins?

Dana,

On my McCauley governor, if I loosen all 6 allen head screws, the inner part can be set at any angle. You can put the bracket on any one of six ways. I don't know if that applies to all governors, or not.

Hey Dana,
If it is the MT gov, just cut the safety wire, loosen the screws and set the
arm at any angle you would like, retighten and safety wire.

Hey Dana,
After you loosen the screws, the plate the arm shaft goes thru will move
where ever you want it. If you take the plate off, you will see it is a
very, very simply devise.

Hi Dana,

After looking at the picture you provided at http://rvflying.tripod.com/gov.jpg, it does NOT appear to be an MT governor.
I do not recognize the governor from the actuator arm and stop assembly in your picture.

FWIW, my guess would be to cut the safety wire and remove four screws so you can reposition the arm/stop assembly 60 degrees clockwise. Then reinstall the four screws and safety wire them.

Jim Ayers

OK gang, just like the MT gov., all I had to do was remove all six screws
and rotate the holddown ring and shaft. I was worried something would come
springing out but it was no big deal. I hate opening up something I have no
idea about how it works inside.

Point of story, don't worry about rotating the aft ring..........it is a
piece of cake.

Thanks
