Hello all.
After finishing high school I went to work for the Jockey Co. Men's
sportswear and underwear in 1955 as a sewing machine mechanic. Made
supervisor in 1975 in charge of plant maintenance and training. Was asked
in 1984 to go to Jamaica for a year to supervise constructing a garment
plant there. Lived in Montego Bay on the beach. Stay was supposed to be
for 1 year, was there 2 1/2 years. My wife went along also working as a
instructor in sewing. Anyone that has lived in a third world country knows
it is not all roses. Returned home in 1987 back to previous job. Was
elected Mayor of my Town and am still mayor for 4 more years(20). Retired
from Jockey after 47 years, ONLY job I ever had, because of losing my eye
sight to diabetics. Has laser surgery and now have my sight back. Bought
my Firefly from a friend that I flew Radio Control planes with. He knew
that I wanted a plane and would buzz my house often to tempt me. It worked,
bought the Firefly in 2000. Have it at a friends grass 2000' strip. He let
me use his hanger for free a 50 x 50. Learned to fly myself with no
lessons. Did a lot of taxing and crow-hops. One day decided it was time to
fly. Took off and landed with no problems. Had been passenger lots of times
in planes and have had some stick time. Flying radio control for 25 years
helped. Bent one set of gear legs.
Have a difibultor and heart pacer implant from a sudden death syn. Passed
out at a football game , I was walking pasta EMS truck and I Died, Luckly
they were right there and revived me. This was in 2002. Have had no
problems since, guess it was not my time to go. Have 330 hours on my
Firefly now, runs great. I am now 68 years old.

Luck? I call that a miracle Jimmy! I'm ten years behind you at 58. I'd still
like to beat the crap out of the guy who coined the phrase..."the golden
years!"

Golden years my ass! My last golden year was at 42 when my dick could still
get as hard as a steel I-beam!

Reminds me of a funny incident my wife experienced many years ago while we lived in Calif. She was for many years editor of a couple of movie and television magazines and was having lunch with an old time star who was noted for her prim and proper roles, as well as romantic. The white gloves, trim hat, very, very proper and one always thought of her as being the type.
They were sitting in the Polo Lounge of the Beverly Hills Hotel eating and talking about what some of the older female stars of yesteryear were doing and the roles that now placed them in the category of "golden year" roles. The former femme fatale still wearing the white gloves and prim pill box hat and smoking a cigarette, stopped talking, got a far away look and after a moment, took a long draw on her cigarette and quite loudly said, "F--- the golden years". So much for her image.
