Funny this topic should appear just as I am negotiating a deal for a Marion replacement. As many know, I acquired about about 8 cases of the Marion S-28-MG filters some time ago and sold many for around $10 or so each in lots of 6. Sadly, I'm on my last case and it's for "ME".
Today's quote was $22 each at retail for the Maradyne (Marion trade name still). Therefore, I have found a couple of 10 micron element spin-on replacement makers. Very soon, I'll publish my web-site with replacements at around $10 each that will exactly replace the Marion. I'll also have low-priced die cast aluminum heads with 3/4" NPT Inlet/Outlet ports that fit these filters as well as the Marion.
In case anyone wonders, there are Fram truck filters that work but the filter ratings are unknown. These types of paper elements have also been known to fail in aircraft applications where humid conditions cause "clumping" within the filter.
And that's not all the goodies I'll have folks .... stay tuned.
