Can the wings of a Firestar still be folded with a 3 blade prop on it?

Yes. One down, two up. 'Y' like.
Attached image shows Chris Mallory's FS II w/3 blade composite going into the trailer. If using an enclosed trailer, clearance could be an issue. Even if enough, make sure top blades are even. Ask me how I know this.

Yes, just point one blade straight down at the fuselage tube. If you are
going to trailer it on an open trailer, pad and secure the "down" blade to
prevent the wind from turning the prop and cutting the wings.

Yes you just have to leave one blade straight down towards the boom tube but
if your going to haul it around like that put a boxing glove over the end of
the prop or you will be patching the fabric on the bottom of a wing

Be very careful though. A small undetected slit in the fabric could spell doom.

Mark Gray has a Firestar with a 3-blade Ivo and I've seen him fold his wings
on several occasions.

Hi, I guess I lucked out on the hauling of a Kolb with the wings folded and the prop not padded. I hauled my original Firestar 400+ miles with the wings folded on an open trailer. Only the boom tube supported. Wings attached to the boom and no other supports. The 3 blade prop not padded. Anybody ever have a problem hauling this way or does everyone just make sure that nothing happens? I was told that my plane came from Atlanta that way. Do not Archive
